What does everyone think about Trend Micro?

How does it compare to Avira and Avast?

You will get a lot of opinions, so here is mine, Windows has released a free internet suit that seems to do it all. I have been running it for about two weeks now, the only weak spot is in the pop up blocker area. I was running Kaspersky which never allowed that stuff, I will be adding a blocker soon!

Hi...I used to use Trend Micro. I stopped because it go as bad as Norton and McAfee as far as slowing your computer down. I also had a problem with it not playing nice with a couple of my Antispyware apps. This was a few years ago, so unfortunately, I can't speak to how it is now.

I do use Avira and like it a lot. A lot of people on here use both Avast and Avira.

It doesn't Like MBAM but seems to get along with SpySweeper.

I was looking for an all-in-one software, without having to combine the virus, spyware, malware, firewall programs.

Any suggestions?

I do know people speak of ESET pretty highly when I've seen them speak of all in ones. Hopefully, someone can give you some more info.

I think you'll find, though, that the majority of users here at MGs use individual applications for each, because they are lighter on resources and then you can also handpick the ones that you want that are considered very good in each category.

For example, I'm using Avira AV, Windows7 Firewall, SpySweeper, and then other scanners periodically. I'd never put an all in one on my computer.

I've got Avira, SpySweeper, MBAM, and Comodo firewall. Been trying out a-squared anti-malware. Not too pleased with Comodo though, would like a different firewall.

Thanks for the link.

I think my Comodo didn't install properly. It has had to shut down after giving me the message it had "a bug".

Will have to remove it and replace it.
