I have an error message in my event log that indicates the optical drive is not compatible for digital audio.

I'm trying to deterimine if I need a new drive, audio codecs, or driver. I'm trying to remember when I installed a new driver, to run down if this problem is post or pre upgrade. I can play CD's, but had a problem with a DVD.

I might uninstall the new driver as a test, but this is a laptop and it got whacked on the floor pretty hard recently. Oh! I have to check and see if I was getting the error message BEFORE it slipped off the bed.

But I'd still be interested in knowing what other people think the problem might be if it ISN'T the drive.
