Optical Mouse Headache

Its not a big promleb but its annoying. I just purchased a new optical mouse its UBS so its a plug and play thing. It worked fine for the first couple of hourse but then I noticed that the cursor what glide to the end of the screen on its own. I just unplugged it and plugged it back in it works fine but the same thing keeps happening and its really irritating. I thought the optical mouse was supposed to be a step up from the traditional one. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

The only issues I have seen with optical mice is that you are using it on a reflective surface it does not like.

Return it. I had this issue and it was a problem with the optical eye.
