I use IE7 and orbit to access sites that have videos I want to save, so I can view them without having to wait for them to "stream"( I don't really know what stream is though)
I save the video to my harddrive, but when I go to open the saved file, it opens "MY ADOBE PHOTOSHOP" I want it to open WMP, I can't open it through the WMP as the files don't show up
can someone help me with what I'm doing wrong?
    thanks

Vista or XP? What happens when you right click on the video file and select "open with"? Your should be able to find an option to select Windows Media Player from a list? It's usually the last option on the little menu. When you select that, the list opens.

Videos should be saved to your My Videos folder.

You should also check what version of Windows Media Player you're running. Perhaps it's just too old.

There's also the possibility of downloading extra codecs for WMP.

    XP
wmp version 9(that's what it says)
codecs? no idea what those are

I changed the destination to a folder I wanted so they arent save to MY VIDEOS folder
I just can't get the saved files to play using WMP!

Windows Media Player is freeware which is why it's only partially updated automatically via Microsoft Update. If you go there and click the button "Custom" - not the button "Express" you'll probably get offered a number of updates for other freeware products from Microsoft. Give it a try: http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-US

    Hi

Orbit has an option called Grab++ and this is the option to open then open or refresh the page that the streaming video is one and one of the links that lists in Grab++ will be the video, this its box and click download (note that some videos are just random code letters numbers but look for ones that are near and over 1mb in size).

Also if you right click the file and choose properties > General tab what is listed as the file type, many online ones are tending to be .flv format in which you will need a dedicated player for that format or grab this all in one codec pack, even though it is called Vista, it works with XP http://majorgeeks.com/Vista_Codec_Package_d5326.html as WMP doesnt come with many of the ones used on the internet these days for online streaming.
