Hey guys. I just reinstalled Windows (with a slipstreamed-SP2, unattended... it was fun to make), but the order of drivers is slipping my mind. Check my logic, if you would...

    Asus chipset
    Silicon SATA
    Catalyst 4.8
    Syncmaster Monitor
    Santa Cruz
    WMP11 (Wireless card)
    and then anything.

So far, I have installed things without refreshing my memory, because I installed the video first, then monitor, then the wireless so I could come on and ask about it. ;-)

TBH ... I think you have the basics installed already... first off is definatly the Chipset drivers followed by GFX card then the rest..... you experiencing any issues after SP2 install?

I usually do network first, then hit da net for the latest drivers for the rest of my hardware.

As Halo said, theres a bit of order, for example, your video card plugs into the motherboard, so do the motherboard drivers first... Again, I disagree with HAX because your network card also plugs into the board, so your board chipset drivers have improved PCI drivers usually, so again, biard drivers is first, you will be fine :)

Thanks guys. And Halo: not having any troubles, but then again, I'm really not using any of the security software that SP2 came with.

for those interested in custom installations...

glad its all working well...... be warned tho do NOT rely on the XP firewall to really 100% protect you.. it will block incomming data but its the outgoing data that it will not block that is a major security risk to your own privacy or data.
