At the suggestion of MG in the spyware forum, I am posting here. Attached are the specs of my desktop running Windows XP Home Edition SP2. I couldn't run certain programs such as PANDA activescan during the spyware cleanout process. What do you suggest?

How long have you had both Avast and Zone Alarm on the same PC? Around the same time as the reboots prehaps?

and from what I pickup out of the Spyware forum, everytime you connect to the net the PC resets?

Strange request but uninstall Avast and install AVG Free another good Free AntiVirus and see if you get the reboots when connecting to the net..

reason I suggest this is that it was a similar incident that I came across a month or so back, in which as the installer for ZA states at present ZA is not 100% compatible with AVAST on "some" PCs .... the PC only just had both of these installed on a clean XP install, uninstalling Avast and the PC stopped rebooting when connecting to the net!
