my acer aspire give me a message MISSING OPERATING SYSTEM.uses windows 64-bit home premium

 

Is that Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows 7 Home Premium?

Go to BIOS and make sure the hdd with the OS is the 1st boot.

 

Sounds like a hard disk drive issue. First thing would be to see if the drive is accessible. If you have an optical drive (CD/DVD) a live CD would help you check. Puppy Linux is fairly simple, straight forward, and Google better show you where to get the .iso file. Burn the .iso to a CD at slow speed and verify using IMGBurn or similar software. Put the resulting disk into the optical drive and boot. You may need to go into the BIOS to have the PC boot from the optical drive instead of trying the HDD, but probably not. If the drive is accessible the file manager should be able to open it and view the contents. The nice thing is you don't install it and should be able to surf the web and more using it. First thing I would try as a matter of course.

i did that . when i try bootrec /fix boot i get something saying no volume partition etc. thats when trying to reinstall os
