Ouch! I keep screwing up! To the members.

It seems that I keep stepping on toes here with my absolute no intention of doing so. I am seriously trying to be a good member but keep messing up. I do not wish to be booted from this great site.

Okay, to clarify. I seem to refer members to other forums, posting messages to membership friends, etc. where I shouldn't.

I am not upset at anyone or anything here, I just wish to apologize to the membership in general. So, here goes,

I am sorry! I work my tail off in order to stop messing up!

 

I have no idea what you are referring to, but a friendly word of advice?

When anyone joins a new forum, it's helpful to just take a back seat and watch how the forum works, the kinda things that get discussed and in which forum, and just get a feel of the interaction that happens and how. Think about it,...you'd never walk straight into a bar and start leading the conversation having no idea what was being dicussed before you had walked into the bar, would you? Would you????

Just sit back, watch and enjoy, and when you feel confident with a thread and believe you have something interesting, helpful or entertaining to post, then let your fingers loose You can't force friendships...they just happen ove time. So relax.....

 

You'll be just fine, I'm sure. Just read a few threads. Place a comment or two when you want to, and the rest takes care of itself. Really, it's pretty hard to get the boot, unless you're breaking some pretty obvious board rules, or being deliberately offensive. Can't see you doing either here, so you're cool, unless there's something I've missed.

The Mods and Admins here are pretty cool, and are friends to most of us, including me, so no need to be afraid, young grasshopper, LoL!

The friendship thang happens kinda automatically.

Oh, and "grasshopper" would be a cool handle too!

Why call yourself dumb? I just picture you as this little hyper little puppy that wants to be petted. Specially now that I know you have a tail!

You don't have to regulate yourself to the lounge only, just read the post and if you think of something that might help, post it.

Sometimes when I post, I may not know an actual answer to a solution, but I'll post a tidbit of information that might spark an idea for someone else, which may spark an idea for myself (or someone else entirely) for an actual answer.

Just my thoughts. And if my sober mind is not failing, I've seen posts that you posted that have helped. So, in that regards, even though I myself consider myself a newb here, welcome you!

The only reason I joined this site is because it helped me many years before I joined. I guess that I am just feeling sorry for myself because one of the people that I respect the most had to chew my a__! Deservedly so, but it still hurts. (Because of the respect thing!)

Anyway, I don't like making unnesessary waves. Just want to be a part of a great organization. I was just looking to make friends. Wrong place, wrong time.

Just venting my sadness.

And for the person of whom I speak, I sill love and repsect you. This is not meant for harm. Just a weak person looking to vent. I still love and respect you and please "spank" me when I need it. Just let me vent.

you're probably being to hard on yourself, something we are all guilty of occasionally. as for me I KNOW NOTHING !! but the people here have gotten me over the initial fear of my puter, have advised of the best programs available to protect the damn thing from both myself and others, and solved my mostly inane inquiries with care and amusement. i no longer cruise the other sections, because i cant help, and my inclination to make light of things may appear disrespectful to those trying to resolve problems. i love the lounge as it keeps me in touch in between problems, and it is a fantastic resource for info on almost any subject. not everybody was born understanding computers. keep on trucking, you will find friends on this site. don't spend all your time on puters, there is a whole big wide world out there. much aloha.

 

Don't worry, you can't get lost here or get in trouble. The adminstrators will let you know when your out of line. And the members will help with the little problems. Its always better to be a gentleman, rather than a bounder.

 

awww liberalghost, i would worry about stepping on toes around here, or any forum for that matter. as much as the admins might wish it were different. no one here is forced to log on and read these pages.

Oh, and would someone tell Halo I do not have a tail. At least I'm pretty sure I don't.

lol.. i thought all western kansans HAD Tails. LOL just relax. a few bite.. most growl but the font of knowledge is huge.

oh and Halo.. the only Kansans that have tails are the ones with 4 legs..

Tell you what: When I was first directed over to this board by KodoSan and AbbySue years ago, Kodo always told me "A little tail never hurt anyone!"

So have no fear.

 

Yeah, but coming from Kodo, that could mean almost anything. Kind of scary to think about it.

 

The moral of the story, is that neither end should wag excessively. Neither tail end, nor finger/mouth end.

 

Unless you are harassing someone with PMs ( no, not PMS) I think you'll be OK. And no, being a policeman is not held against you - we have other members of the law enforcement community around here , too.
