I accidentally caught on fire and it hurt like hell. :cry

Lucky the burns aren't bad enough for hospital.

Oh, Aimee! How in the world did you do that? I hope you are alright ! Yeah, I'll bet they hurt...:cry How did you burn yourself?????

Do you have any aloe ? either the plant or the pure aloe gel? It will help with the burning..

How in the world did that happen?
Just glad that you say it wasn't serious, but try to be more careful.

Well my mom was flicking the lighter at me like she sometimes does but the sleeve went up in flames and she threw her cold coffee at me to put it out.

Feels like a sunburn right now.

Man, that could have been serious, but I'm just glad you weren't hurt more than you were!! Maybe you could suggest to your Mother to 'flick her BIC' in the other direction from now on, huh? Either that, or just wear short sleeves when you're around her!:-D Take care and be careful!!

Your mother must feel horrible. Burns are pretty deceiving and can be worse then they look in the beginning, be careful of infection, and along with the others who mentioned aloe vera it's very good for burns.

Even Mom's need to be told NOT to play with lighters... I sure hope you are feeling better today. Those things are dangerous...rolleyes

huh? Why on earth would anyone..particularly a mother...think that was even remotely a good idea???

I can not be the only one who thought that when they read it.

Glad you're ok Aimee but :confused

Would make me wonder if Mom has played any other abusive "games".

    Oh brother, here we go...

Look, even with a healthy respect for fire, accidents do happen. Hell, I've burned myself lighting matches.

As for flicking the lighter, since they don't stay lit, it's likely just a misjudgment of how long the flame stays lit. Don't immediately jump to 'abuse'.

Agreed. Sometimes an accident is just an accident, people.

On the other hand it's a gesture of intimidation. Sometimes the sparks alone coming off the flint wheel hurt, smokers know this.

I'm not saying accidents don't happen and I'm certainly not saying it's abuse just from this post...my point is that the idea of an adult 'flicking' a lighter at anyone is pretty poor judgement. Jeez, even my 10 and 12 year olds know better. rolleyes

I'm pretty sure I would never flick a flame at anyone...particularly my kids. I just really find this post sad on one of two levels...a kid wanting attention or a parent with really poor judgement. I really don't take much seriously on message boards and I know Aimee is a kid so really you have to take this post with a grain of salt....

    jus' saying
