Out-of-Date Video BIOS

A recent Everest report tells me that my video BIOS is over 2 yrs old (06/24/03). Is this something that would improve my pc in any way if it were updated, or isn't it anything real important?

Don't worry about it, Everest almost always says that.

The only time to flash your Bios is if you are having a problem, and the Bios update specifically addresses that issue.

You're welcome, and it's good that you checked first.

That's one of the few things I don't like about Everest or Aida32.

It shouldn't be suggesting or telling people to update their Bios as a default remark.

 

I know what you mean...it had also told me that my Award BIOS had an update available, and of couse, provided a link to esupport.com. At the time, I was not aware that Flash upgrades were supposed to be free, and I ended up paying them $60 for a "upgrade" that was only "usable" for 48 hrs after they emailed it to me...I did not get to my email until the second day, was confused with the step-by-step "easy" instructions, and it did not fully flash

I'm just glad that I got out of the whole mess without screwing up my current BIOS
