Out Of Memory Transferring From Usb Drive

Trying to transfer 22GB of pictures and video clips that are on a 64GB USB drive onto a NEW Laptop (4GB Memory, 128GB Solid State Drive, Windows 10). I successfully copied the files from an old Win 7 laptop onto the USB drive. However, when copying from the USB drive onto the NEW laptop, I receive an error message that I'm out of memory. How can this be? Any suggestions? Except what was pre-installed on the new laptop, the only other files on the laptop are about 1GB of documents I copied into My Documents... from the same USB drive. Thanks for your help

 

You have a 128 ssd......win10 is installed and most likely a host of other software and personal data?

How much drive space is left when you run a simple search under 'This PC'?

 

Not at the laptop presently. It's a friend of mine.... but that was the first thing I checked yesterday. About 81GB.

 

Open Resource Monitor on its Memory tab. What is it showing as Hardware Reserved? If that looks ok then you could run the portable version of Treesize Free, which will show you what is using your memory.

(Resource Monitor is buried in Task Manager but you can just type Resource Monitor in search)

 

81GB free space out of 128 sounds quite normal. The OOM error sounds correct - it's more likely to be something bugged in the working memory allocation - What are the actual memory stats from TaskMan?
