outgoing email

    Got rid of Norton AV and still cannot send outgoing email
    anyone out there help me?

    What OS and which email program you are using would be helpful... plus any as DaRkKn1qHt said error messages?

    I will jump the gun a bit with a few options/thoughts off the top of my head.. one thing to check also is if you have a firewall... check the programs it allows or blocks access to the internet if your email program eg. Outlook Express is listed in their delete it from the list and then use your email program again to download or send email and if your firewall pops up with a message to allow or block this software then click allow.

    another thing to check is the connection properties of your email addresses.... for example if again using Outlook Express.. click Tools > Accounts > Mail > double click your account name > Connection and you can try two things.......

    either click/tick "Always connect to this account using" and pick your internet connection from the dropdown list.... OR untick the "always connect to this account using" so that the email soft should use any available connection and remember to click APPLY to set any choices.

    was about to send it to you, but guess what? I followed one of your suggestions and it worked - you are a genius. no more problems sending email - at least not for now. many, many thanks.
