    Hi,
I am at university in Halls and have a broadband service through UBROADBAND which is in association with BT.

I can recieve emails fine from my NTL account into outlook XP.

I cant send emails though. I think this is a problem with my outgoing smtp.

Do you know what SMTP I can use to send out going mails that wont be blocked by my ISP?

    I have tried:
    SMTP.webip.co.uk
    SMTP.dslconnect.co.uk
    SMTP.leeds.ac.uk

    Please help!!

    Thanks
    Luke

You will need to find out what the Uni's mail server is and use that.

They arent real clear on what to do about SMTP, but almost no ISP allows relaying.

You could always sign up for web hosting, and use your own domain as your email address, provided this provider isn't blocking port 25.

    Talk to the campus admin.

550 errors are relaying errors. You need to use their SMTP, or go to web based email. There really isnt a way around talking to the network people on this.
