Outlook 2000 SP-3

On a week old brand new XPP machine I have 2 profiles or accounts setup in Outlook 2000, example: JohnS@neo.rr.com and JaneS@neo.rr.com.

When Outlook starts up I have it set to ask me which "Profile Name" I want to use. I then choose either JohnS@neo.rr.com or JaneS@neo.rr.com. I also have Outlook set to only check for email manually. After opening 1 of the profiles I can manually check that account or profile, whichever you want to call it.

Then I close out of Outlook, once it is completely shutdown I start Outlook over again and open up the other account or profile, whichever you want to call it, but now I can no longer make Outlook check for new email. It should be capable of switching between these profiles and checking for new email. I have done it for years and now all of a sudden something is wrong that won’t allow this to work properly, or at least, as I know it can.

I have already tried these:
1. Used ScanPST.exe (the Inbox Repair Tool) to diagnose and correct any problems with your PST file(s);
2. Started up Outlook with the /CleanReminders switch to delete and regenerate the reminders cache;
3. Started up Outlook with the /CleanViews switch to remove custom views and reset the views to their defaults.
4. Run Outlook>Help>Detect and Repair

Also, I just noticed another strange thing that Outlook just started doing which may all be tied together. It is delivering copies of emails I have already received. When I log off the computer and log back on or reboot I am getting a copy of an email I already received prior to the latest logon. After I get 2 copies of an email then it stops delivering that email. I do not have the option checked that leaves a copy of the email on the server. It is like Outlook doesn't know it has already received that email. Could this be part of my problem and is there a solution to this problem?
