outlook 2003 2 way synch with sharepoint

    Can it be done? i have read on the internet NO it can not be done but they were dated 2007, saw 1 that said yes it could be done but when i tried to follow the instructions i could not get it to work.

    sharepoint synched to my outlook creating a PST for the calendar but i can not add or edit any of the data in outlook, tells me i do not have permission.

    any outlook 2003 / sharepoint SME out there???
