I cannot see that this problem has been addressed anywhere.

I have just had a major upgrade of my PC.

    Everything has gone well...... but!

I used several e-mail addresses for different reasons.

When I do send/receive it still checks all the old e-mail accounts for mail although in view/change settings there is only one address, my main one.

I want to stop it checking all of them now but cannot find them to delete them. The program on shows one e-mail account not 4 althought it checks 4!:boxing

    Hi,

Are you checking under "tools" then "accounts" then under the "mail tab?

Edit: The above is for Outlook Express, my mistake. Outlook is likely different.

    Outlook 2003 is the software.

I have used the accepted way to delete e-mail accounts before. I know how to do it.

But something must be corrupted I suppose and I do not know where to look.

I have uninstalled MS Office and re-installed it.

During the upgrade, was your hard drive wiped and Windows reinstalled, and Office 2003 reinstalled? When you started using Outlook again after the upgrade, how did you initially set up the email account? By importing from a file saved prior to the upgrade or by setting it up as though it was a new account?

I am sorry I missed out part of my reply.

I did a lot of things when the PC came back I believe I set up my e-mail account manually. In fact I sure I did. My ISP insists mail accounts are configured a certain way. I am used to it, it has always worked and I have deleted and re-instate accounts several times over time.

    I have found the problem.

I deleted a profile which only had the one account mentioned therein! I created another profile by re-instituting the e-mail account. Now the other accounts have disappeared and my send/receive only checks the one acount.

Thank you for your suggestions. They prompted me to try certain things.
