I am having an issue with Outlook 2003. I attempted to send a message with an attachment that was too large . . . after being away from my desk for 1 hour and it was still trying to send the message with the large attachment, I decided to change the format of the attachment to make the file smaller and resend it. I clicked on the old message that it was trying to send in the outbox and hit delete, but it is freezes up and won't let me delete it. How do I get this message out of my outbox?

    Try these steps,

Disable the anti-virus , close and open outlook and check if you can delete.

If you cannot delete the email in normal mode, try to login to safe mode going to start > run > Enter outlook.exe /safe in the Open field. Click OK and try deleting it.

Try to press SHIFT + delete to see if you can delete.

Drag and drop the email to the deleted items folder to see what happens.

Try to disconnect from internet and make sure outlook is not trying to connect to mail server and see if you can delete it.
