    Hey all,
I've noticed that recently Outlook 2003 will not completely close when I shut it down. My CPU useage goes to 100% and I have to shut it down via the task manager even though it does not appear to be running...same with WinWord (through Outlook). It is NOT on the "Applications" tab but still shows running on the "Processes" tab. Why???!!! Uncle!

Probably a plugin or background programs. Any syncing software installed? Is Norton your antivirus?

I would try booting your computer into safe mode (by taping F8 while restarting), and see if the problem still happens. If it does not, try disabling email scanning in your antivrius and spam filitering software, see if that helps.
