I need HELP!!! I just had to repair my computer so now I am reinstalling all my apps. Who would have thought I would be stuck on Outlook!!!! I have been trying to set my outlook to get my verizon e-mails. It use to do it so really why not now? I keep getting asked to enter my password, even though I have entered it a million times!!! I tried the steps above and my account settings are set just as it should be. Since it is not recognizing the password it keeps asking for it and I never get to the account!!!

Access your Verizon email at http://webmail.verizon.net/signin/. If you can't signin due to password not being accepted, that comfirms you aren't using the right password. If that happens, use the link there for Forgot Your Password?. Once you've changed/reset your password online, change it in Outlook, too.

    Hi

What Windows version and as your post was in an older thread, what version of Outlook? is it the aforementioned Outlook 2007?

Moved to a new thread as setting for different accounts can be different settings., so is your email Yahoo/Verizon or just Verizon?

Choose in Outlook Tools > Account settings and then Email tab then New (or Outlook 2007 should with a new account once you enter your email address and password automatically check for the server settings), enter your details and make sure the server incoming and outgoing are as listed HERE

then just make sure that the info below is correct in your settings

    Select Tools Menu
    Then Options
    Then Mail Setup Tab
    Then E-mail Accounts
Double Click on your email address
    Click on More Settings
    Choose Outgoing Server Tab
Check Off the Box Titled, "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"

I am using Windows xp Media Center version 5.1 service pack 2 and Outlook 2007. I have everything set up per Verizon recomendations and I am using the right password. I am stumped!

Are you doing this as an IMAP or a POP3?

Also, did you check the "Remember Password" checkbox?
