go to file > export> come down to the pst.> name it a d save it to desktop. Open the old outlook>click import> look for the pst. file you just saved to the desktop> click it and the files should go to the old outlook

I don't believe he has an older version of Outlook. Apparently, he was using Windows Mail, in his Windows Vista system, before using the Office 2007 trial. I see Outlook is listed as one of the sources from which Windows Mail can import messages. For Contacts, I think he'll have to export from Outlook to a CSV file and then import that file into Windows Mail. However, that may not be an option if the trial period for Office 2007 has expired; he would need to open Outlook to do this.

I believe so, but I would try the importing of messages anyway, just in case Windows Mail might still import from Outlook's .pst file. But, to export Contacts, he would definitely need to open Outlook, so I think his only option there is to purchase Office.

I got it fixed, windows mail let me import all my files but it duplicated all the files so now i have two of everything. I then had to mess about with the mail accounts, outlook received mails but wouldnt let me send and windows mail would let me send but not receive but i imported the account settings and it sorted it. I think iam going to treat myself to an IT course at my local college.
No more freebie trials for me.
