Outlook 2010 Actring Up

Hi,

For some reason my Outlook Mail Program has taken control of itself and began sending email messages to random email addresses. They all come back as "undeliverable."

I have 3 emails that I need in Outlook.

So, is the mail program doing this or is it the ISP? How can I tell which one is doing this?

Do you find these sent messages in your Sent Items list?

If not, you may have been the victim of a spammer that has used your email address as a forged 'From' address, so they come "back" to you as undeliverable.

NO, they are not in my sent items box.

Just got another 42 message returned to me as undeliverable.

How do I fix this?

Do the undeliverables contain the original message with full headers? If so, you can analyze the headers to find out from where they were really sent originally.

If my suspicion is right - that you are the victim of a spammer using your email address, then there is not much you can do about it, except to complain to the spammer's ISP. But that might be in Russia or China, and a complaint will not achieve anything.

 

I'll check the headers and let you know what I find.
