outlook address book (import)

I just added a new (to me) 6G hard drive to my old pentium 1 computer and I made my old 2G drive a slave. The problem I'm having, is importing the (outlook exp.) address book from the old drive to the new drive / new outlook exp. address book
I have located a file called "user.wab" on ddrive (the old drive) which I believe is the book but it will not import to the new

If you have Windows XP you can use the Files & Settings Transfer Wizard program for this I think -- it may be a lot easier.

I don't know if this will help but this came from the Help section in OE -- look at the end where it says IF your address book is not listed....I think first you have to "save"/import the one you have as a .wab file somewhere...then export it so you can import it with the new drive.

"To import an address book from another program

You can import address book contacts from other Windows Address Book files (.wab), as well as from Netscape Communicator, Microsoft Exchange Personal Address Book, or any text (.csv) file.

For Windows Address Book files:

In Address Book, on the File menu, point to Import, and then click Address Book (WAB).
Locate and select the address book you want to import, and then click Open.
For all other address book formats:

In the Address Book, on the File menu, point to Import, and then click Other Address Book.

Click the address book or file type you want to import, and then click Import.

If your address book is not listed, you can export it to either a text (.csv) file or an LDIF (LDAP Directory Interchange Format) file, and then import it using that file type."

I should have mentioned that I'm running 98se (new to the new drive), I had a copy of 98 on the old drive?

In the mean time I will follow your instruction
