I ordered some sneakers from Puma (shocker :-D).

I just got my confirmation email and when I opened it, at the very top of the email it says:

Be careful! This sender failed our fraud detection checks.

    What does this mean?

Using web based outlook (what used to be hotmail) email account.

From this lengthy thread @ answers.microsoft.com:

Be careful! This sender failed our fraud detection checks. - Microsoft Community

It seems the problem has been around for several months, and evidently still no solution. On page #6(second post) of that thread a link was provided to hal2020.com that gives an explination for the cause:

You can’t defeat SPAM when legitimate mail looks like SPAM! | Hal's (Im)Perfect Vision.

Basically, what I get out of it is, Outlook can't determine for certain whether or not it is fraud email.

Means that the Spam guard service that Microsoft uses, is doing its job.

Then dyamond should be able to add the sender to the safe sender list and problem solved, for that sender.

Why would Microsoft think that Puma.com (a legitimate online retailer) is spam?

Something set off their Spam guard. You are better to ask them, why the system thinks that the etailer that puma used to make the transaction was not legite, or the IP if it was an overseas IP that set it off.

Yahoo uses Spamhaus for their spamguard services. Here is more info on Microsoft's "Smartscreen" technology: http://mail.live.com/mail/junkemail.aspx

It could also fall under their "domain spoofing" filter, who knows. It is Microsoft, and they are not going to be around much longer anyways.

Most of us that are smart, use other mail services like gmail, yahoo, me.com not live.com/outlook.com. I only have a outlook.com, because of having a previous website hosted through Microsoft's old version of skydrive that also allowed website hosting. Never use it, but it is there if I ever do decide to use it for something.

I noticed you don't care for Outlook.com or .live email programs.
I have 5 accounts and 2 of them are Outlook.com. They seem to function well and have adequate bells etc.
I use Outlook.com for most of my mail. Gmail is sort of my backup email program.
Perhaps I could pick up some tips from you as to the shortcomings of these email programs and make the necessary changes
    Thank you?
