Outlook & Explorer Hang

I had posted a HANG problem before & had a couple of responses, one of which worked for a while. Disable the sreen saver was the suggestion & it seemed to be a solution. Well, here we are several frustrations down the road & the beast is back meaner than ever. I have disengaged my background, screensaver & any power saving options { shut my monitor manualy} & still the problem persists. I check the add-ons & make sure they are disabled & all those other good things, but to no avail. I've got to tell you, this is really getting to me.

 

I have what may be exactly the same problem. If I receive an email with a url in it and I click on the link, I get a substatial hang before IE6 finally opens up. I have been unable to find any info on this. I have XP professional/office 2003

 

Since you are using dialup I would temporarily disable the Email Scanner in AVG and see if that stops the "hanging".
