Outlook Express can receive but not send

I can receive messages with Outlook Express, but cannot send. I need a solution. Someone please help. Thanks. zrdavis2@juno.com

 

You don't mention so am wondering if you have checked this with your ISP to eliminate any problems originating from them ??

 

on suggestion is to turn off your Antivirus e-mail scanning or your firewall, if doing either helps, you'll have to look into reconfiguring them so they work with you being able to send e-mails.

another option is to try Thunderbird and see if you still have the same problem.

just presenting multiple options you don't have to try Thunderbird. It's just a left field suggestion.

 

Open OE, click tools, click accounts.
Highlight your mailbox and then click the properties bar on the right.
Choose the server tab
Make sure the send mail box says "smtp.yourprovider.com" without quotes and yourprovider being who the mailbox is with.
Also on this page, make sure your address and password are correct.
Then close the window by clkicking OK instead of the X icon.
