Outlook Express error 0x800CCC0E

Got a new computer. Outlook express worked fine for a few days. Now I am unable to send/receive. I get the following message "The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.sigecom.net', Server: 'pop.sigecom.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10022, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E."

Here's some info on the computer:
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
OS Service Pack Service Pack 2
Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180
CPU Type Intel Celeron 4E, 2933 MHz (5.5 x 533)
System Memory 502 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM)
Hard Drive 80 GB

Make sure that your passwords are saved in the accounts.
Make sure that your ISP is not having any email server problems. Lots of times people attribute a non-responsive mail server with a problem on their machine and that is not always the case.

Do those two things first and if everything checks out, we'll try some other stuff.

 

Thanks for the reply. My password is saved. My ISP has said they can't see any problems and advised it was probably a software issue.

Make sure Firewalls and/or Antivirus software that watch email are disabled; Test

If failed again

Try making a new Outlook Express account with the same parameters of the offending account; Test

 

That got. Firewall had it blocked.
