I get this error when I use Outlook Express with Windows XP

Some of the messages in your Outbox Folder could not be copied to your Sent Items Folder. Your message could not be uploaded to the IMAP server. The server refused to accept it. Subject 'test 3', Account: '(name of account)', Server: 'imap.aol.com', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'APPEND Failed. Try again later', Port: 143, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCCD2.

Can you help me with this?

Has it worked before? Or did you just set it up?

I have only been able to download and read messages. I have not tried to reply to a message before. Does it have anything to do with firewall settings?

I have now noticed that I can send email, but it will not save a copy in my sent folder. I keep getting an error for that. I am using Outlook Express 6 on Win XP with SP2. Computer is a Toshiba Satellite A-75 with a Pentium 4 2.5 Gigahertz and 512 built in memory.

    Thanks for the help.

Have you tried to look and see if the email is in your sent folder on the website? Or is it not webmail?

What is the error that you get? Is there like a code number or something?

I have looked in the Sent Folder of the account online and it is not there.

I am now thinking after reading some of the posts that I might be encountering a virus or spyware problem. I have not tried to clean out the computer yet. I was using System Restore and something could be trapped in it which is causing this to happen. I have all of a sudden had some weird things happen to my computer. So I think I will try to see if I can clean it up and then see if the problem goes away. If that doesn't do it then I will reinstall Outlook Express. (How can I backup some of the mail that I have downloaded. I want to put it in a seperate folder outside of Outlook).

    Thanks for you help. :D
