Outlook express freeze on startup

After a powercut last night my OE6 comes onscreen, showing a window, but no objects are active, except X to quit. All other Windows programs run fine. Any hints on getting OE going? WinXP-PRO-SP2

Have you tried using system restore?

Thanks for help on this - I finally went nuclear and followed the INSIDEOE site guidance to follow MS support guidance to delete the main identity and recreate, followed by starting OE and importing the old emails. This lost the signature and other Tools/Options settings but is less painful than losing 50,000 emails and the user swearing with every other breath. >>Phil
