outlook express... grrrr

okay. had a power surge and brown out tonight. sugre supressor did it's job and allowed me to shut down. then i downloaded an update of NIS2005. i had to restart my computer after the update. prior to the update the outlook express was working. afterwards.. it times out. i really suspect NIS messed me up. (well duh) but, where i don't know. this is the error message...

A time-out occurred while communicating with the server. Account: 'XXXXX', Server: 'pop.everyone.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

i'm going to resart the blasted thing again... help please?!?

 

okay checking my firewall next. can't send either.

 

flaming firewall!!! okay is it under UDP or what protocol? it is NIS2005....

 

no respose yet.. i think i fixed it. the newest download update (NIS2005) includes something in it to boost the firewall. had to lower my security level to low on the slider for the OutLook Express6 to work... maybe this will save someone else some frustration.
