Outlook Express Images

Just today, all HTML images on messages are just a small red X. Please, what did I do to mess that up? Many thanks!:confused

 

Don't know if this will help, but you might check
Tools -> Options -> Security tab -> Download images

see if "Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail" is checked.

I checked all that, it has to be something else, probably above my pay grade! I'll keep digging.

 

With a little help from my friends, I fixed the problem, if anyone else needs the solution.

Start computer in "safe mode with networking"
Open IE go to Tools - Internet Options
Connection Tab - LAN Settings
Uncheck "Use Proxy Server" Click OK

Restart in normal mode, no problems.

Another user indicated he had done a system restore to a date before the infection, that worked for him also.

I was hoping that you would post a fix if found.

So was "Use Proxy Server" ticked ON?
Any idea what may have re-set it to ON?

Yes, "Use Proxy Server" was ticked on.
I was told we MUST start in Safe mode with networking to correct the problem.
I think it was caused by "Anti Virus Action" that slipped in on me.
It changed allot of other settings that I was finally able to correct manually.
