outlook Express is deleting attachments

My friend is using OE on XP Home and OE persists in deleting "unsafe" attachment.

How can we receive an attachment and how do we reset it afterwards? Bazza

 

Deleting unsafe attachments, or just preventing them from being opened?

If the latter, Tools -> Options -> Security tab -> Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that..."

It is actually saying "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail"
It is actually a zipped file with an exe suffix and I was trying to send it as an email attachment to a friend.

Fair enough OE is trying to be smart and protect user from an exe possible virus but it doesn't give you an option, just wipes it.

What do I have to reset to allow an attachment through, and how do I reset it again afterwards to bar exe attavhments. Bazza
