Outlook express locks up

Whenever I start to send a new note, whether I have Outlook open, or when I click on an e-mail link, the normal screen will not fully appear and then it shuts down. If I reply to a note this does not happen.

Need to know how to fix it, or where I can download a fresh version of IE for Win XP. Please don't tell me to go to the MS web site....... it's sooo cumbersome to try to find anything there that they don't want you to see -- like whatever the new "fix" is.

just to clarify, You can open Outlook Express with out it locking up on you .. correct?

 

Yes. I can open and work in Outlook, It's just that one problem (that just started I might add!)

By the way... Congratulations on Syracuse's outstanding win!

 

go into your add/remove control panel and select IE for removal. A box should come up with the option to repair. Choose repair. Test. Then resinstall all the updates to IE/OE etc..

I wanted to try the above fix in my add/remove file for OE but it wasn't even listed as a program to add or remove so no good...;-(
I'm having a problem with OE where right after I send an email the whole computer just locks up for 20 seconds or so. Mouse and keyboard is dead. I can't for the life of me figure out why its doing this. Anybody have any ideas?
