Outlook Express meesed up...help!

I have lost the use of my outlook express email program a while ago. One day it just stopped working... would not check mail and no matter how many times I re-entered the passwords it kicked it back saying please enter password. Since then I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird and its been ok... but I sure would like to be able to foward some of the emails from there to my current email program or get the use of the outlook express back. Been also having other computer issues. Not sure of the terminology to tell exactly what it is doing. It will not load completly with a normal boot. I have to shut the computer off by holding in the button till it shuts off.. then wait 3 or 5 seconds then turn it back on. I hate to even shut it off any more because it just does not want to start up. Anyone have any ideas what I need to do? Oh, I did a scan, regedit, de-frag, and system restore (NOT all at the same time tho). Nothing changed.... Got an error message once that said it had something to do with explorer.exe. Also remember something in the not to distant past about a trojan. None of my programs seem to want to play nice with each other any more. What can I do... short of taking it out back and beating it with a baseball bat? Any help is most appreciated.

Seems like you have multiple problems which could take some time to sort out if they can be sorted out at all. My advice would be to bite the bullet, save all personal files, drivers and any other important stuff, and do a fresh Windows install. Sometimes a system gets so screwed up, a fresh install is the best option.
