Outlook Express Problem

This old man did a complete restore and all is well except for one problem. When I open OE a sign in screen comes up. I type in password and OE works fine. There is a way to eliminate that sign in screen.but I have forgotten how. Can someone prompt this old mind? Thanks

Maybe it's 'Identities' that's prompting you for a password.
I only have and use 1, so if you have more than that I believe you need to pick which one to start with or go down to only 1.

Well, I tried but I still have the problem and in the process I lost the mail I had! That log-in screen has a greyed out area for remembering password. I am the only identity and should be able to access OE without need to constantly use password. Thanks for your suggestion.

 

Then Outlook Express may be corrupt.

Using Passwords in Outlook Express

To add, change or remove an Identity password:

1. On the File menu, click Identities, then click Manage Identities.

2. Double-click the Identity you wish to edit.

3. Clear the check box labeled "Require a password."

In Outlook Express
Go to Tools > Accounts
Click the Mail tab
Highlight the default mail account
Click the Properties button on the right
Click the Servers tab
In the middle of the dialog box are you able to put a check in the box, Remember password?
If you can check it and click OK.
Close out the Internet Accounts dialog box
