    Hi!
Do you have any kind of message rules set up?
Do you use any kind of spam filtering program?
Does your antivirus program check for 'unsafe' emails?

i have no rules set up
i have AVAST antivirus that does some email checking, but that wouldnt make outlook put it into the delete file....would it?.. wouldnt it just block the email totally? or something like that?

Well, with no rules for messages being deleted set up in Outlook Express, what about your web mail?
Do you have any spam filter rules set up there?
Log into your web mail and check the options set up there.

just found a few more emails that get sent straight to deleted emails:eek: this is crazy, there is no apparent reason for it:mad:

I would try removing AVAST! and any antispam software you have (spam subtract, etc) just for kicks, see if it makes a difference.

Any rhyme or reason to the ones that hit your deleted items? Is it maybe any email from someone not in your address book?

havent tried turning off avast yet (will do when i get a chance)

but i put both the emails it does it to in my address book and it still deleted them.
those are the only two i know off that it does it to, but i've just found this problem, and am not in the habit of checking my deleted emails (till now), so im not 100 % sure yet.

If the Avast thing does not help, a quick and dirty fix might be to try a new Outlook Express identity. Resets a whole bunch assorted settings and stuff, a good thing to try when your not sure where to start.

How to create a new identity:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/209169/en-us
(short version- go to file, click on identities->add new identity, type in a name, and hit OK)
A new identity will act like you are opening Outlook Express for the first time, and the address book and email folders will be blank. This is OK, all of the information is still in the old identity, which you can switch back to at any time via the file menu.

If it works, import your stuff from your original identity, using the following as a guide:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/270670/en-us

(short version->go to file, import, choose messages, and follow the wizard. Addresses and email information involve a few extra steps, but that article explains it pretty well).

Good luck, hope it helps! :)

this may be a little ignorant but how do i find my mail server info to put into my new identity?

In the old identiy, go to tools->account->mail tab. Highlight your mail account(s), click export, save the file somewhere easy to fine.

Then, in the new identity, got to tools->accounts, choose import, bring the settings back in.

I would recommend then going to properties (on the accounts screen)->advanced tab and temporarily check "leave a copy of messages on server" (if it isn't already checked) so that you don't permently download any mail into the test identity.

Sorry I did not explain this earlier, and hope it helps! :)
