outlook express stopped creating copies in the sent folder

A few days ago noticed outlook express is not keeping a copy of sent emails in the sent folder.
I checked the: Options/Send: and it was checked as to keep a copy in the folder
We cannot find a way to resolve the problem.

Most likely your Sent folder is corrupt, try replacing it.

Create a new folder for Sent Items

Also most often OE folders get corrupt if the max of 2GB or 2000 emails is exceeded in a folder, its better to create sub-folders. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;903095
