    Hi
I very rarely use Oiutlook Express but now can`t anyway, For some inexplicable reason when I try to open OE i get a message that says:

` OE could not be started because MSOE.dll could not be found. OE may not be installed correctly`

How would i go about fixing this?

    Also see how these go>

Try this to repair IE & OE
    Start/Run/regsvr32 urlmon.dll

    OR

    To reinstall IE & OE
    Start/run/rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 c:\windows\inf\ie.inf

    hi all

Tried all of these ideas but still get same report when i click OE.

    MSOE.dll not found

I did not get an XP disc with this PC, there is a reinstall set of discs to
load all software back in, if i need to do so, but don`t really want to do
    that.

Don`t really remember anything that would have caused this to happen.
I run sygate firewall, and Free AVG antivirus and reg chexk the registry with about 4 checkers, like REg Mechanic, PC on point, Reg Fix, they always find loads of things to correct, other than that everything is OK, Except that I have noticed that Firefox (which I use) is extremely slow in loading nowadays (around 10 seconds)

    Have a look in here>

    C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\

Should be 12 files, including msoe.dll.

    What's there?

Don't know what the 13th file is. Maybe it is different depending on the system.

    Anyways......see how this goes.

    hI
thanks for suggestion, but i don`t think i want to try that, too complicated for me,
I try to stay away from anything to do with Microsft, I have a feeling it was some auto update that caused the prob in the first place. There was a time when the File security thingy kept coming up not allowing me to open some programes, seems to have disappeared now.

Guess i`ll just not bother with OE

    thanks all the same
