Outlook express & XP

    HI

    I am trying to find the files for outlook on an XP installation that is now knackered.

    I need to copy the file to restore on the new machine and then import them.

    Ive searched all over but cant find them

    any ideas????

    The contact information (address book) and account settings should be in \Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Microsoft\Identities\{random GUID}. The GUID will look something like "{36753740-2WEE-781D3-89B1-00A0C9900DSA}". Your email messages are stored in a .dbx file, which is usually located in %systemroot% (C:\Windows\ or C:\Winnt\). Do a search for .dbx files and you should find it.

    You can simply copy the whole Identities folder over, and then point the Store Folder in the Outlook Express on the new machine to the folder you put the old .dbx file.
