Outlook Express

I currently use OE to check my Email and on each occasion when I start the program I receive the following msg :
Your inbox folder was not polled for it's unread count. Account imap.aol.com, Server imap.aol.com, server response port 143 secure (ssl) no. error number 0x80041x08D.

It also tells me the same message for saved folder and inbox folder

Can anyone tell me what can the problem be and how to rectify the problem

It's possible that you have a corrupt POP3UIDL.DBX file. Close OE. Delete that file and then restart OE.

 

Have removed file in question but situation still the same. Getting msgs at start up of proram.. Any further suggestions.

Try disabling your anti-virus email scanner and see if that stops the message.

The next thing I would try is to delete the e-mail account details and then re-create it.

 

My ISP is AOL which I am sure u are going to tell me to possibly get rid of. Due to contractual reasons have to stick around until it expires,

Not quite. I wondered, because I didn't think aol supported pop3 accounts and I thought OE was a pop3 account? I left aol because of that, but I might be getting it mixed up with dfu connections.
