I have Outlook Express > I have been unable to delete inbox messages. It goes to the delete folder but remains in the Inbox . this is a very recent problem

A couple of things to try

Compact the OE database by Tools/Options/Maintenance/Clean up now

Try to delete the messages directly rather than go through the delted folder, highlight one in inbox and hold Shift key down and hit Delete key.

Next would be that your Inbox.dbx file is corrrupted and will need replacing, this WILL result in your inbox emails being removed, so save any you want to keep.

Then click in OE Go to Tools > Options > Maintenance >
Store Folder as this will take you to the location of the inbox.dbx file which houses your emails, copy and paste the full location ( should look something like this C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{GUID}\Microsoft\Outlook Express ) to any address bar and it will open the folder, then copy and past this inbox.dbx somewhere else as backup then delete the one in the , close OE and resart it as it will create a new inbox.dbx file and should fix this.

Copy the location to the inbox.dbx into a text file and save it, then close OE and paste the location into an address bar and try again, if that doesnt work boot into safe mode and again dont open OE but paste the location into an address bar.

if that doesnt work let me know and I have a few other options.
