Outlook Express

    Why would outlook express send duplicate emails when the email was sent only once? I have one computer in our shop that will send 5 emails every time a single email is sent out using outlook.

    Hi

    Is your Sent Items box full of old sent messages? as Outlook Express can only handle about 2GBs of data once it gets over that amount it seems to send emails multiple times, so some users have a workaround to this in creating a new Sent folder and call it Old Sent Items ( only if you wish to keep the sent emails ) copying all the email from the Sent Items folder to the new created Old Sent Items folder.

    To copy all the emails click and highlight one of them then press CRTL+A to highlight all of them then either drag then to the new folder or right click and choose copy to folder and choose the Old Sent Items folder.

    Then send a test email to see if this issue is cleared.

    Hi!

    A while back, I had this problem as well with Outlook Express (using Sympatico ISP), I never discovered why it happened, but it did suddenly stop. I think it may have to do with the recipients computer, because all other e-mails sent by me were received once with everyone else, but repeatedly with one particular recipient.

    My guess, would be I hit the send/receive button several times as I was sending e-mail to see how far along the download was when receiving attachments.

    I'm sorry, I don't have any suggestions for you, just wanted to let you know that you're not alone.
