   im bein asked by OE that if i can compressed my files to gain HD space..what that means?...what if i just delete the messages that are on my deleted items folder

   It means you could free up some hard drive space by letting OE compact your mail folders. The most can be gained by emptying your Deleted Items folder of whatever you don't want, and then: File -> Folder -> Compact or Compact All Folders manually.
