Outlook Express

I am writing this asking for a woman I work with. She is running Windows XP Home with McAfee installed.
When she opens her Outlook Express, it shows her how many messages she has incoming, but then closes and goes to her desktop. She cannot look at her messages at all.

Any ideas?

I think this needs to be moved to spyware questions after talking to her more today. She cannot get on any websites either.
She has tried using System Restore but this does not get rid of the problem. Any ideas on how I could help her?
