this is complicated,so bear with me.i am an aol user,so i never use outlook express.but 2 days ago i got a peoplepc disk,to compare them with aol.heres the problem.i can use outlook express when on aol,but on peoplepc if theres a link in an e-mail,i click the link but nothing happens.i cant remember the exact intinial error message, but the first time i tried to click a link on an e-mail i had gotten on outlook express using peoplepc,i got some message saying something like, url protocol needed by aol not available,i cant be sure about that message cause its never appeared again.i didnt have aol on at the time,so i dont know why that matterd.as i said,on aol outlook express works fine, but i dont want to use outlook express on aol,i dont even want to use it on peoplepc, but they make you use it as your default mail client.sorry this is so long and confusing.any help would be welcome, please explain in simple terms because im not too computer savvy, thanks.i use windows98se,outlook express6

    OE6

Have you reset all the information...pop3/smtp in OE6 to
peoplepc?.....AOL is arbitrary...you must set up OE6 again,
meaning get rid of any AOL references...

Open OE6: TOOLS :ACCOUNTS :MAIL :HIGHLIGHT AND
    "MAIL.AOL.COM" REMOVE
    Then : TOOLS : ACCOUNTS : MAIL : ADD
ENTER ALL PERTINENT INFOR FROM YOUR ISP
CLOSE OE6 AND RESTART YOUR PUTER
REOPEN OE6 AND YOU SHOULD BE PROMPTED TO ADD YOUR EMAIL NAME

Unless I misunderstood your question....this should work
You are allowed to have both accounts ...however only one
can be your default....ie...you can only send mail from your
default account....but can receive from both
(AOL sometimes will automatically make itself the default):(
If this fails to get rid of AOL...then you must uninstall/reinstall
OE6...and be sure and run a good Reg Cleaner...to make sure
any and all AOL inferences are gone.
    Hope this helps...;)
