OUtlook hangs when synchronizing public folders

Multiple times a day Outlook will disconnect and be offline for varying amounts of time. Is there something I need to do on the client in order to stop this from happening?

 

What version of outlook? Using exchange?

 

2003. Yes, using exchange.

Errgh, ran into this issue a month ago. Have to find my papers on what to do. May take a bit of time, since those papers are at work.
