Outlook hide new incomin mails

:cryI use Outlook 2007 and it has been unexpectedly quitting when left alone for a little while. Much more seriously it now hides incoming mail by downloading them I don't know where.

Can someone help me please? If I can find my old Outlook CD (previous computer) would it solve the problem if I reinstall it? (Outlook '98 I think. It's old!)

You might be able to repair it. In Control Panel > Add/Remove (XP) or Programs and Features (Vista), right click Microsoft Office and click Change. On the next box there is a Repair option.

Worth a try first.

What operating system are you using?

 

I had similar problem of grabbing from mail server but not appearing in my Inbox. My problem was fixed by deleting old emails, as I found that there was a limit of 16383 items for the Inbox. I was using Outlook 2000-SR1 though.

Auto shut down: Open start and then help and support type in the search outlook shuts down and then hit enter...there are a few options for this fix. You gave no indication of any kind of error messages and need to check the task manager to see if indeed shut down and not just running in the back ground...there seems to be assistance for this type of issue and seems to be related to upgrades...
