Outlook Issue

I have Outlook 2000 on Windows XP. When I open the program it takes 5 minutes for it to open. When I close it, the small envelope on the taskbar stays, and then after a while, an error message comes up and says Outlook has encountered a problem and must close. You will lose any unsaved work. I have run the detect and repair featue, Trend Micro, FixIt Professional and SpyBot. Still happens every time. Have you seen this before and what can I do to stop it? It seems to run in the background until it has this error.

have you done all the office 2000 updates
