Outlook Issue

Hi,

I'm running a Win10 64 bit, on a Gigabyte Z87-HD3 PC on wifi. I currently have Outlook 2007; which I know is old and no longer supported.

For the past two years or so I will occasionally get an error that Outlook cannot connect to the server. If I reboot the computer a few times it will start working again. This has happened about every two or three months.

Like I mentioned, I am running my PC on wifi and have not had many connection issues. I have noticed that if I connect to the router with a cable Outlook will connect and download. So I'm thinking there is something in my wifi connection that may be blocking the connection.

Is there something to check for a possible fix to the wifi connection for Outlook?

Yes, I am considering updating Outlook but would like to make sure this problem doesn't continue. I have been looking for an email program. I don't really like the idea of renting Outlook 365 at $80 a year just for email.

It could be 1 of 1000 reasons when it comes to networking. I try and shake the tree so to speak to see if the problem resolves itself.

What other people have started with:

Check if ISP blocks port 25 (some do)
Check for a flaky wi-fi connection
Change port 25 to alt mail port in router
Change autoconnect settings in explorer
Turn off ipv6 in network settings (only use ipv4)
Update network driver
Reset Outlook Config x or xy..
