Outlook outbox problem

I have Outlook 2007. Awhile a go I had made a rar file and forgot to break it down. Without thinking, I attached it and clicked the send button. When looking at the screen, it says that there is one message in the outbox but when clicking on the outbox, nothing is there. It is not in the sent box either.

I have tried the following.
delete outbox.dbx
delete send email address
delete recipients address
leave it running for days

I can't send anything and it bogs down the computer so much that I can't even use it.

 

Try "Work Offline" then try deleting.

Think it's still in File > Offline, don't have Outlook on this pc.

 

I tried doing that also, when I click on the outbox to show me what is in there, it says, "There are no items to show in theis view".

 

This might work but wait for someone with Outlook 2007 to verify directions, if you're not comfortable with.

Thanks for your help. I just set up a new data file as described in the link you supplied and transfered everything into the new data file. I was able to delete the "bad" one and now it seems that my problem has gone away. Thank you again!
