Outside the box!

Is there anyway I can use my 500GB WD USB external drive and make it a slave drive? I am interested in testing and reviewing Win7beta and other beta products but not on my only good computer. Partioning is not an option so I want to use the external drive for testing and reviewing.
You may want the key to lock me in the box and throw the key away but I like pushing the button.

 

I think you might have to treat the external drive as a USB drive and do it that way. There are a lot of steps involved --- Good Luck!

 

How can I find out if my system supports booting to USB?

 

Well, if your computer is a desktop, and the hard drive in the external enclosure is the correct type for your motherboard, take it out of the external enclosure, and toss it in the tower. If it is the wrong connection type, adapters are available.

Now that is out of one box and into another... :-D
